On February 10th, Bandelettes splashed into New York Fashion Week (NYFW) appearing on Chromat’s ever edgy sportswear and swimsuit fashion show. The evening began with a powerful performance celebrating curves, diversity and girl power. Yaaas girl, #werk it! If one hashtag could summarize the Chromat’s Fall/Winter ‘17 collection it would be #WeCameToSlay.

Bandelettes on the Runway at NYFW

Fashion lovers and style divas immersed themselves in Becca McCharen’s Fall/Winter 2017 Hyperwave collection while fabulous models strutted Bandelettes’ latest thigh-band designs. The discreet but sexy black laced Bandelette paired perfectly with Chromat’s delicious burgundy swimsuit (seen on model Priscilla Huggins Ortiz). As one of the earlier NYFW slated events Chromat set the bar for all designers on what it takes to rock the runway. Chromat wowed viewers with not only their innovative 3D printing fashion but also with a gloriously diverse model lineup.

For Bandelettes the true feat was having the opportunity to work with such a broad range of dazzling models and trendsetters. Bandelettes prides itself as a brand that promotes inclusion and body positive attitudes. “It is very important for us to help all women feel sexy and comfortable that is why we were so excited to collaborate with Becca [McCharen] and the Chromat team” Julia Abasova, co-founder of Bandelettes.

Celebrating Diversity

The night was certainly a celebration of strength, girl power, and inclusivity. This NYFW Runway encompassed eclectic ethnicities and various sizes, which only invigorated the #girlpower mood.

True beauty advocate and model, Denise Bidot, wowed the audience with her flawless curves and oozing confidence. Along with being breathtakingly gorgeous Denise Bidot just so happens to be one of our girl crushes, so to have the privilege to dress her was a monumental win for the Bandelettes team!

The Chromat show also featured Carmen Carrera, trans model, who you may have previously watched on the sensational show RuPaul’s DragRace.

Another fan favorite was British plus-sized model and returning veteran, Iskra Lawrence. Last year Lawrence debuted her runway modeling career in Chromat’s SS17 fashion show. Iskra Lawrence is a champion for positive body image, and we can’t get enough of her campaign #everyBODYisbeautiful.

Rena Abramoff, a co-founder of Bandelettes, expressed the night’s success, “There was so much emotion and girl power. We applaud Becca’s choice to cast diverse runway models because that is the essence of the Bandelettes brand.”

Bandelettes super sleek and comfortable anti-chafing thigh bands were a favorite fashion accessory for the models.  Model Priscilla Huggins Ortiz was surprised that anti-chafing wear could look so fabulous, while another exclaimed: “I know what I’m wearing for Valentine’s Day!”
